Meet the Photographer
Welcome! I’m Jonathan, the owner of The Imperial Lens. I am a husband, proud father of 2, and a car guy since birth. My photography journey started years ago when I picked up an old Canon Rebel XT from a yard sale. A small interest in photography expanded into a big passion. A few years, a few cameras, and thousands of photos later, I dived into the world of professional photography.
I enjoy the level of art and creativity involved in imagery. On most days you can catch me taking photos of just about everything. From people, to architecture, to food, to automobiles…everything. My focus, however, is portraiture. There’s nothing like proving clients that they are much more photogenic than they previously thought.

Why Hire a Professional Photographer?
Let me explain why…
I know that there are thousands of photographers out there to choose from. Just about all of us know a photographer personally, and we all have that uncle that is always willing to take pics for free. Out of the seemingly endless sea of Atlanta photographers, only a small percentage are true professional photographers. The question you may ask - “What makes a photographer a professional, and why hire one, when my friend will take photos of me for free?” Well, here are a few points:
The quality… A professional will provide quality that you simply cannot get for free (that includes the uncle with the nice camera)
The experience… Photography is more than just saying, “cheese”. You will realize how much fun it can be when in front the camera.
It’s an art… It takes time and experience to master the fundamental elements of photography, and to use them in a creative way.
SELECTING ME AS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
If you haven’t noticed by now, the shoot and editing style can be quite different between photographers. Image styles can range from light and airy, to dark and moody. With that said, I suggest that you look at a few sample pictures from a photographer’s website or portfolio before you decide to go with them. This sets the expectation of what your images will likely look like.
Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about what the experience is like when you hire me to be your photographer. My style is all about having fun and making the experience natural. I may take some posed shots, but most of my portrait work is of a candid style. This creates the best photos, especially those candid moments that everyone loves. You will quickly see that you are more photogenic than you thought you were.
Images are delivered via a private, but shareable online gallery. All images can easily be downloaded and shared via social media, if the client chooses to do so. From digital booking, to the shoot, to receiving the images - My clients experience a smooth process.
